« Jim Gillette (born James Gillette) is an American singer, notable for being the frontman of glam metal band Nitro. Originally a member of the band Tuff, Gillette released a solo album in 1987 before co-founding Nitro in 1987 with shred guitarist Michael Angelo Batio. Gillette was famous for his extremely high voice, which he often used, with audio amplification, to shatter crystal goblets as part of his act. He is often cited to have had a range of over 6 octaves,[citation needed] though this has never been proven. An examination of his recorded output puts his range at 4 octaves (which is still in itself quite an accomplishment) and on Nitro song "Machine Gunn Eddie" was able to hold a soprano high B note (one semitone below soprano high C) for 30 seconds, whilst sliding between a high A and G♯ in full voice. Jim released a vocal training video through Metal Methods in 1993 entitled Vocal Power. Gillette is married to singer Lita Ford, and currently trains in mixed martial arts with the Gracie family. He also exercises with clubbells through Scott Sonnon's Circular Strength Training. He said recently he focuses on training and family and wants to be a good father and husband. It was revealed on May 8, 2008 that Gillette was the father of Big Brother 9 HouseGuest Sheila Kennedy's son Mick. According to a Myspace blog that had permission to quote Sheila, "He has since married Lita Ford. He has had nothing to do with Mick ever and did not even sign the birth certificate. So Sheila has really always been on her own with Mick. He and Lita do have a child (or children) together and they live in the Carribean. So Sheila can't go after him for anything."»
